Ten heist, con and crime series to fill the gap after Money Heist, from Berlin and Lupin to Hustle and Locked Up.
Berlin
Few series have travelled the world like Money Heist. Álex Pina's story of a red-jumpsuited gang and the Professor who plans their every move combined a tight heist plot with big emotions, betrayals and a crew you could not help rooting for. When it ended, plenty of viewers were left looking for that same mix of clever planning and ensemble chaos. The ten series below each capture part of it: some are pure heist, some are cons and escapes, and a few share cast members or creators with the original.
Berlin (2023)
The most obvious next step. This spin-off, created by Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato, brings back Pedro Alonso as Berlin in the years before the Royal Mint job, leading a new crew on a jewel heist in Paris. The tone is lighter and more romantic than the original, closer to a glossy caper than a siege thriller. If Berlin was your favourite character, this is essential.
Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area (2022)
This Korean remake follows the original story closely but moves it to an imagined near future in which the two Koreas are preparing to reunify. The heist targets a mint in a shared economic zone, and that setting gives the familiar plot new political weight. It is interesting both as a thriller and as an example of how a format changes when it crosses cultures. Viewers who know the Spanish version will enjoy spotting the differences.
Lupin (2021)
Omar Sy plays Assane Diop, a gentleman thief inspired by Maurice Leblanc's Arsène Lupin novels, who sets out to clear his father's name against a powerful Paris family. Each episode is built around elaborate disguises and reveals, and Sy's charm carries everything. Like the Professor, Assane always seems three steps ahead. It is stylish, family-friendly and very easy to binge.
Kaleidoscope (2023)
Giancarlo Esposito leads a crew planning to break into a heavily guarded vault, but the real hook is the structure. The episodes are named after colours and were designed to be watched in almost any order, with only the finale fixed. That means every viewer experiences the story a little differently. If you enjoyed Money Heist's flashbacks and shifting timelines, this takes the idea much further.
Prison Break (2005)
