Spoiler warning: we talk about how WandaVision ends. There's nothing here about VisionQuest beyond what's been officially announced.
Marvel's Vision series lands on Disney+ tomorrow, Wednesday 14 October, after quite a long wait. This is what you need before you start.
When is it on?
The first two episodes go live on Disney+ at 2am UK time on Wednesday 14 October. In the US, Marvel moved the launch forward to Tuesday evening, 6pm Pacific, but it's the same moment, so nobody gets it before anyone else.
After that it's one episode a week, with the last of the eight going out on 11 November. One small thing to watch: the clocks go back in the UK on 25 October, a week before they change in the US, so a couple of episodes may land an hour earlier than you're used to.
What's it about?
VisionQuest finishes off a loose trilogy of Disney+ shows. It started with WandaVision in 2021, and Agatha All Along followed in 2024.
At the end of WandaVision, the Vision we knew was gone. What was left was a rebuilt, colourless version, usually called White Vision, who got the original's memories back and then flew off without saying where. VisionQuest picks him up from there. He's trying to work out who he actually is and what he wants, while other people would quite like to use him as a weapon.
Showrunner Terry Matalas has said each episode is a different type of film. Given that WandaVision went through a different sitcom every week, that sounds about right.
Who's in it?
Paul Bettany plays Vision again. It's worth remembering he first turned up in Marvel films back in 2008, as the voice of Tony Stark's computer J.A.R.V.I.S. in Iron Man.
The headline name is James Spader, who's playing Ultron for the first time since Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015. Ultron built the body Vision lives in, so there's some unfinished business between them.
